About John Vavalo

John Vavalo is the founder and CEO of Terradiol, a highly diverse biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Syracuse, New York. Terradiol is focused on creating real social impact through collaboration with states where medical cannabis has been legalized and is deeply committed to changing the future of cannabinoid medicine through cutting edge research and development.

At Terradiol, John is the driving force behind the culture and vision of the company. Since inception, John’s focus for Terradiol has been to build a world class pharmaceutical company to cultivate, process and dispense pharmaceutical grade cannabis based medicines. John’s personal expertise in process mapping and extraction gives Terradiol an additional competitive edge in a complex marketplace.

In addition to founding Terradiol, John was a founding member of New York Canna, a medical cannabis company created to operate in the State of New York. After being a top finisher in NY, John and his partners are well positioned to begin operations in New York in 2017.

Prior to entering the medical cannabis industry, John was the co-owner of J-Michael Shoes and several other successful businesses, John has tremendous experience in retail and business operations and managed more than 50 employees across his retail, biofuel and food service businesses. As a young entrepreneur with exceptional experiences, John brings a unique blend of energy and enthusiasm to his personnel management style.

John also served previously as the Senior VP of Northern Biodiesel located outside of Rochester NY, where he grew the 20-million-gallon-per-year biodiesel production facility to be the largest biodiesel plant in the Northeast United States.

As an accomplished graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology College of Applied Science and Technology, John holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Environment Management with a focus on Chemical and Process Engineering. John has provided professional consulting for design engineering and chemical stoichiometry for the national and global biofuels, bioenergy, and manufacturing industries. John assisted in the development of Alternative Energy Learning Centers with several colleges and universities throughout New York State for biodiesel and alternative energy.

John resides in Syracuse, NY with his wife and two children.
